Fido Dido, a gawky,
cornball, very successful licensed character, began its life as an
illustration in unillustrious fashion ~ as a sketch on a cocktail
napkin, to be exact.
It was in a bar after work that Susan Rose first
sketched Fido Dido. Just 15 lines: a triangular head with features as
uncomplicated as a snowman's and eight locks of scary, stand-up hair,
that was in 1985.
Fido Dido's character
was created by Joanna Ferrone to make other people feel comfortable: You
are what you are and what you are is okay - that's the message.
